Art Nouveau, French, early 20th century. 5" wide, white gold leaf and 22K gold leaf, hand carved and hand shaped, rounded corners. This sleek design is one of many Nouveau frames in our inventory and was originally commissioned to frame the work of the great Czech poster artist Alphonse Mucha (1860-1939). Nouveau patterns are often characterized by sinuous lines and stylized natural forms.
